January 2010
This is my beginnings of the non-profit i am creating. Its been in my head as an idea for around 4years yet now its starting to form into reality.
what it is
ptsb is a non-profit organization that serves to bring art to war-torn and impoverished areas. art can be very therapeutic for those in distress, science even backs that. our goal is to give these children a way to express themselves through things such as drawing and painting. everyone deserves a voice, and we want to help theirs become heard.
how you can help
donate! whether it be art supplies (crayons, colored pencils, paints, brushes, pastels, storage boxes, sketchbooks, etc) or monetary donations, every little bit counts.
what happens with your donations
all of your donated supplies will be stored and separated. then a location will be selected, such as: new orleans, afghanistan, iraq, mexico city, uganda, china, etc. once a location is selected, the supplies will be shipped to a school in the area. every kid there will get their own box of supplies and will be asked to draw their dreams of a future life.
what else?
annually, there will be a gallery showing in chicago, illinois of the children’s artwork. all proceeds from the show will be donated back to their community, and the children will be able to decide what they would like to better their neighborhood. not the adults.
our partners
ptsb works in close partnership with One Laptop Per Child, an organization that works to bring a laptop to every child.
